Ô bois ardents, ô brasiers des immensités ! Nocturnes sont vos flammes et bas sont Vos halos ; nocturnes et chétives Nos âmes, et leurs formes toutes pareilles dos-à-dos. Mais las, C'est bien toi, et c'est toujours toi que je Nomme, Valse de l'obscurité! Que ton foyer s'immacule, Que les divinités voluptent. Ô ! Et que quelquefois, sous les flammes, que les silhouettes se forment! Et ce sera alors à vous, fougueux zéphyrs : Danses et chants, banquets et lyres ; Et à nous, ombres, les immensités des Porphyres ! Que les cordes se dressent ! Que les corps s'accordent ! Ô ! L'ardente flamme s'est fait valse Étrange et brûlante dans l'obscurité – ô L’ardente flamme s’est fait valse, Étrange et brûlante dans l’infinité Quand pour un mot, tour à tour, nos deux corps se répondent et se hâtent...
