Cross-Leaved Heath (Night) - The Cross-leaved heath is an evergreen dwarf shrub that grows on moist, nutrient-poor soil in bogs and heaths. The plant has erect branches and needle-shaped, wreath-shaped leaves that are between 2-4 mm long. The leaves have a very curved edge and are glandular-haired. The flowers are pink and fragrant. They are in umbel-like, nodding clusters at the ends of the branches. The crown is pot-shaped and remains in place after flowering. The fruit, enclosed by the crown, is a many-seeded, hairy capsule. Cross-leaved heath also lives in symbiosis with a fungus, which provides nutrients to the plant, helping it to grow in places with few nutrients. At night, this plant glows a bright green glow that can be seen from hundreds of meters away. It does now seem to emit any radiation or dangerous substances. The small shards that fall out of the flower from time to time is closely related to what we know as Prehnite.
