The mirror of the soul #2 - Sight and gaze are, more than the other senses, close to our mind and our consciousness and, therefore, they inevitably express the things and sensations of which we are aware. We know how and why we are looking at a person in a certain way, while other aspects of our body language can be disguised or hidden. According to many traditions, the eyes represent "the mirror of the soul" because they immediately reflect all our emotions, our fears and our most secret emotional faces. "Look into my eyes!" is what we say when we don't want to miss even one of the messages that a person's eyes send us. A look is worth a thousand words and, in fact, thanks to the eyes, we communicate moods and manifest our character. That is why the direction of our gaze, its intensity, its movements and many other characteristics that contribute to project our person to the outside world become significant.
