They are hulking masses of impenetrable carapace hiding an incredibly intricate, almost beautiful structure within. The most massive of their ranks, usually the higher joints, may be hundreds or even thousands of lengths tall. Their imposing presence alone is often enough to break even the strongest of souls, even before the first wave of void-fire rains down."
