Science, fiction, and non-human perspectives articulate together a matrix that I call ‘Antimundo’. My artistic practice is ignited by this matrix, which is a way to envision futures for ecologies of selves, rather than futures as monuments for inflated individual egos. I grew up in Ecuador, there I learned from other young artists -like myself- how to make art, we were self-taught and I feel blessed by that freedom. Later, through a fellowship, I had the opportunity to get an MFA at the Sculpture Department of VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) in Richmond, VA, in the US. Since 2013 I am based in The Netherlands where I often work along with scientists and other curious minds. My work has been shown at institutions such as LACMA (US), Yokohama Triennale (JP), Humboldt Forum Berlin (DE), Irish Museum of Modern Art (IE), Biennial of the Americas (US), Voorlinden Museum (NL), Centraal Museum Utrecht (NL), FRAC Paris (FR), and many others. www.antimundo.org
