I See You

The idea of an opening in an exchange era, Gywtug considered, was that it could happen anywhere. Exchange eras were times when the flow of information between their planetary system and Earth’s was heightened— enough so that even a human could fall through. How it happened, Gywtug did not fully understand, though she had a sneaking suspicion the human knew more than it let on. But she did know that traditionally, life was supposed to get a premonition of the exchange era before it happened. In the past, Mythtuf felt an extrasensory perception, an awareness of the psychic space expanding into another realm. And right now, the Commander had an unsettling sense of being observed. Not from her own kin, or even from the Ecosystem. No, she felt as if she was seen… from another place.
