The Discovery

Kanko has just finished building his Otris body. [ Like water, the body flowed forth. As I sprouted a brainstem, fanned out the neurocranial sheathing, jittered and shook my bones, felt the flush of blood, the falling of gravity, the tiny crackles of curling hair, as I finished pulling memories from the darkness of preexistence into my new Otris habitat, I sunk into exhaustion, skin slumping and muscle atrophying, a brain freeze expanding over my whole being. I finished my body. I could not move. I needed to be charged with the energy of this new space to live in it.
