View From the Water Fruits

Mutualistic bacteria lining water fruits produce a hydrogen gas that causes them to float. The water fruits in the old forest grow taller, not yet stunted by the pathogenic competitors of the new, and break the canopy in places. Scaling the lattice they form, Habelkef can reach the top and feel the sea of electric fields above the chaos below. Up here, the only thing that touches you is the waves of charge as storms form; the rest is drowned out in the wind. The way down is fun too. Habelkef loves the thunk thunk of water fruits against his body as he falls faster to earth. Only thing to watch out for are folding bushes. It’s a nicer memory if you didn’t get folded in half.
